Why is it called Analog Arrivals?
At a time when software and AI are taking much of the thinking out of communications, we're interested in returning to thoughtful, non-digital personal engagement. At present, we're focused on creating postcards that can have a personal message emphasized by some drawing, design, or picture. "Analog Arrivals" pieces are the opposite of emails.
For real, what are these used for?
For real, anything you want. Our suggestions from most- to least-recommended:
Write a quick note to someone you've been meaning to reach out to. (For free postage, click here.)
Draw, scribble, etch, or remix into a creation of your own.
Spruce up your office, reading nook, or refrigerator door with a new design that reminds you of something positive.
Give it away to a stranger and say "For you."
Recycle it.
Not recommended: Toilet paper. We're not sure how the paints and glue will impact your sensitive areas. And the stock definitely isn't safe for plumbing.
No matter what, we'd love to hear from you about where, when, and how the piece came into your life.
Why do you want information from me, and what will you do with it?
Information shared through our questionnaire will be kept in our database. We'd love to see which pieces resonate with people and what they do with them so that we can produce more of the things people like. We will never spam you with advertiser messaging!
Who does the art for Analog Arrivals?
At the moment, a single Detroit-based artist creates the pieces, but we're always open to expansion. If you're interested in contributing, partnering, or just learning more, reach out to us at analogarrivals@gmail.com.
What are Wildcards?
Wildcards are special pieces left in public places. Finders-keepers rules are in effect.
